Abstract
This research discusses the collaboration between Indonesia and the Pacific Islands Forum, represented by New Zealand and Fiji, through the Pacific Elevation strategy. This strategy provides benefits for each country. Pacific Island countries can be helped to overcome the four main problems in developing the economy in the fields of agriculture and tourism, that is low human resources, limited connectivity, climate change and COVID-19. on the other side,Indonesia can minimize the development of Papuan separatism in the South Pacific region and open up business opportunities (markets) in Pacific countries and maximize encouragement in the Indo-Pacific. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The author conducted interviews with related parties, New Zealand Embassy Staff in Jakarta, Fiji Embassy Staff in Jakarta and Indonesia former ambassador to Fiji. The implementation of Pacific Elevation is the Trade Fair in the form of the Pacific Fair (2020) in Fiji, Pacific Exposition 1 (2019) and Pacific Exposition 2 (2021) in New Zealand, also the international forum Indonesia Pacific Forum for Development (2022) in Bali. These activities provide a huge contribution to Pacific Island countries, such as the opportunity to conduct business transactions with Indonesia and ASEAN countries, providing opportunities for Pacific countries to get to know Indonesia. especially the Eastern Region of Indonesia which has geographic and demographic similarities to the Pacific Islands. For Indonesia, this activity can strengthen relations between the two countries and also protect Indonesia's sovereignty and maximize permits in the Pacific region. Indonesia can also maximize its business in the Pacific region for the long term and utilize existing maritime routes. The Pacific Elevation Strategy can work well because it benefits both parties.
