Abstract

The most common jobs exposed to CTS risk factors are hand using jobs such as wood craftsmen. This study aims to assess the related risk factors to CTS complaints in wood craftsmen in Ciracas District. The population in this study is wood craftsmen in Ciracas District with 53 respondents as sample. A cross-sectional study was performed to investigate risk factors such as working hours, work posture, age, hypertension, diabetes, and body mass index. Data then analyzed using chi square. The result of this study showed that 43 (81,1%) respondents experienced complaints of CTS. The work posture was related to CTS complaint (p=0,000). Meanwhile, working hours (p=0,467), age (p=1,000), hypertension (p=0,482), diabetes (p=1,000), and body mass index (p=1,000) did not show any relation to complaint of CTS. The risk factor related to CTS complaints among wood craftsmen in Ciracas District, East Jakarta was work posture. Workers must pay attention to their working posture. Workers can stop working for a while and positioning their body in a better position.
