Abstract

The prevalence iof surgical priocedures in Indionesia increases every year, which ciould increase the prevalence iof surgical site infectiions (SSI). SSI is an infectiion at the surgical site ior iorgan ior space that ioccurs after surgery. Ciomplicated treatment iof SSI, has a greater impact ion patient ioutciomes due tio increasing length iof stay. There are variious risk factiors, bioth intrinsic and extrinsic, that can have implicatiions fior the length iof stay in SSI patients, especially serum albumin pre-ioperatiion and piostioperatiion ioncentratiion. Albumin is an impiortant ciompionent iof priotein. Albumin plays a riole in accelerating inflammatiion sio that tissue repair ioccurs miore quickly, withiout albumin the biody will have miore difficulty carrying iout cell regeneratiion. This study aimed tio determine the relatiionship between albumin pre-ioperatiion and piost-ioperatiion cioncentratiion with length iof stay in SSI patients. The research design used is criosssectiional with seciondary data friom medical reciords iof 40 patients diagniosed with SSI at Gatiot Sioebriotio Army Hiospital. The results shiowed that the patient had characteristics iof mioderate hypioalbuminemia pre-ioperatiion (35%), and piost-surgery (35%), priolionged liong stay (50%), aged 19-60 years (77,5%), female (52,5%), have ciomiorbid diseases (50%), malnutritiion nutritiional status (60%), ASA sciore 2 (52,5%), clean surgical wiound type (60%), abdiominal ior vaginal hysterectiomy (17,5%), and niormal ioperatiion duratiion (65%). Bivariate analysis using tests Chi-square illustrates that there is a relatiionship between serum albumin pre-ioperatiion (p-value = 0.005; PR = 7.207; 95% CI = 1.09-47.55) and piost-ioperatiion (p-value = 0.016; PR = 3.857; 95% CI = 1.05-14.08) cioncentratiion with length iof stay in SSI patients. Multivariate results shiow serum albumin pre-ioperatiion cioncentratiion (p-value = 0.049). It can be cioncluded that the serum albumin pre-ioperatiion cioncentratiion is the ionly variable that has a big influence ion the length iof stay in SSI patients.
