Abstract
Objective: Anemia is a significant problem in Indonesia, particularly due to the high prevalence of iron deficiency, especially among teenage girls. The government has implemented a program to provide iron tablet supplements (TTD) as a measure to prevent anemia in teenage girls, women of reproductive age, and pregnant women. However, TTD compliance among teenage girls is still very low. This non-compliance can be caused by various circumstances. The purpose of this study was to determine the parameters associated with the level of compliance of TTD consumption among female students of SMP Negeri 1 Kersamanah. Method: This study used an observational analytic strategy using the cross-sectional method. The sample consisted of 49 samples obtained by simple random sampling method and had gone through inclusion and exclusion procedures. Data analysis for bivariate analysis in the form of chi-square test. Result: The results of bivariate analysis showed that TTD consumption compliance can increase with a high level of knowledge (p-value = 0.005), a good attitude (p-value = 0.017), and the presence of family support (p-value = 0.025) with the level of TTD consumption compliance. This could be because health behavior can be influenced by internal and external factors, some of which are the level of knowledge, attitude, and family support. Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge, attitude, and family support with the level of compliance with TTD consumption among female students of SMP Negeri 1 Kersamanah.
