Abstract

Food waste is a significant global issue in waste management. This happens when food that is actually still suitable for consumption is eventually ignored and becomes waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the most influence factors of food waste behavior in active students Faculty of Economics and Business in University of Indonesia in 2023. This research using a cross-sectional study and conducted on 150 respondents selected by purposive sampling. Data analysis used the chi test -square. The results of multivariate analysis with logistic regression showed that the gender variable had a p-value of 0.000 and POR = 114.2 (95% CI: 10.632-1228.707). The attitude variable has a p-value of 0.000 POR = 41.6 (95% CI: 5.360-323.827) so that gender and attitude are the most dominant variables influencing food waste behavior in college students. Therefore, the meal planning method or planning meals wisely can buy food according to needs and avoid over-purchasing
