Abstract
Hypertension is one of the most common diseases in the world, including the elderly, due to a decrease in physiological and psychological functions related to aging. There are several ways of treatment to prevent uncontrolled hypertension and prevent other disease risk factors from appearing. First, the pharmacological method, namely by consuming drugs regularly and non-pharmacologically. The purpose of this study was to provide family nursing care, especially for the elderly with hypertension through foot reflexology intervention. The research subjects were two elderly, managed elderly and resumed elderly who had hypertension problems. The design used in this study is a case study through nursing care given to families. The intervention was foot reflexology which was carried out for 3 days. The results of this study showed that the average systolic elderly managed from 150.00 mmHg to 136.67 mmHg and diastolic from 93.00 to 77.33. In resume elderly, the average systolic resume was 153.33 mmHg to 141.67 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure from 85.33 mmHg to 72.67 mmHg. The conclusion from this study is that foot reflexology has an impact on reducing blood pressure in elderly people with hypertension. The elderly are able to apply foot reflexology therapy in dealing with hypertension problems
