Abstract

Interprofessional collaboration is a partnership among health professions that is known supports more comprehensive, certain, and safe healthcare in the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic. Collaboration competence in Indonesian health worker still needs to be improved, and it is known that hierarchical relationship in the health environment is a collaboration inhibiting factor, especially in Asian cultures. Interprofessional education is an effort to realize interprofessional collaboration. This study aims to describe the implementation of interprofessional education learning for preclinical medical students in Asia by identifying learning methods, learning outcomes and challenges. Systematic review were conducted in this study. Articles were sourced from Proquest, PubMed, and Taylor & Francis. Screening was carried out according to inclusion criteria and 7 articles were obtained. Learning method such as simulation-based learning, problem-based learning, didactic learning, community-based learning, team-based learning, and shadowing were found. Learning outcomes found varied in each article because objectives, measuring instruments, and selection of activities are also varied. Interprofessional education improves students' ability to collaborate. Learning methods and outcome found varied according to objectives and design of the program in each institution. Challenges found were logistical challenges, student diversity, facilitator skills, and cultural barriers
