Abstract
Hypertension is an important risk factor for coronary heart disease and hemorrhagic stroke. The phenomenon of massive hypertension in the world has forced all experts to form a management guideline based on scientific facts, a reference based on the International Society of Hypertension (ISH) in 2020 comparing age, race, and a mix of blood pressure goals. The target of this study was to observe the consumption of antihypertensive drugs on the blood pressure of hypertensive patients at the Tambak II Health Center. The study sample was 130 hypertensive patients who visited the Tambak II Health Center on predetermined inclusion and exclusion requirements. Analysis of the correlation hypothesis using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test for unbalanced gains then using the Spearman test (rho). The medication adherence instrument was modified through the "Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire from the Journal of Management and Pharmacy Practice". A total of 100 individuals (79.4%) obeyed but 26 individuals (20.6%) did not comply. The results of the study illustrate that there is a link to adherence to taking antihypertensive drugs on systolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients (p = 0.000) in a close correlation (-0.533) and in diastolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients (p = 0.000) in a strong correlation (-0.310). The conclusion is that there is a link to adherence to taking antihypertensive drugs on the blood pressure of hypertensive patients either systolic or diastolic blood pressure.
