Abstract

Background: Along with the advancement of the times and technology, most modern society spends a lot of time and activities sitting in front of a smartphone. The number of smartphone users around the world is increasing year after year. It is estimated that there will be 2 billion active smartphone users worldwide by 2016. Factors that can trigger neck pain are demographic factors including (age, gender, genetics), individual factors (Body Time Index, smoking, psychosocial), and organizational factors (duration of work, ability to operate a computer, and incorrect sitting posture). Research Objectives: To find out the relationship between Smartphone Use and Neck Pain in Employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Methods: Research using the cros-ssectional study method with 80 samples of respondents through questionnaires. The variables used in this study were smartphone use as an independent variable and neck pain as a dependent variable. Based on the results of the SPSS 25 test obtained pearson correlation showed a significant value of 0.822 for the relationship of smartphone use with neck pain. Conclusion: From the results of the analysis of this study found there is no relationship between smartphone use and neck pain in employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
