Abstract
Difficulty in adapting is an impact that will be felt when the caregiver does not have social support and self-compassion and there is also a caregiver burden. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and self-compassion with caregiver resilience in elderly chronic diseases. This study used an analytical research design with a Cross Sectional approach was conducted on 70 caregivers who work at the Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 2 & 3 through the total sampling method. Data is collected by distributing questionnaires. Analysis of the data used is univariate and bivariate using chi square test. The results of test obtained a p value of 0.002 for the social support variable with caregiver resilience and for the self-compassion variable with caregiver resilience a p value of 0.000 was obtained. The results of this analysis show that there is a relationship between social support and self-compassion with caregiver resilience in elderly chronic diseases. Utilizing the social support they receive and developing self-compassion are carried out so that resilience is formed in caregivers so that when caring for elderly chronic diseases they avoid stress.
