Abstract

Background Musculoskeletal disorders are common among soldiers, because of heavy and dangerous workload, including crewmember who work on warships. Various symptoms, both reversible or persistent resulting in decreased combat readiness of crewmember onboard. Objective of this study is to describe musculoskeletal disorder in crewmember of KRI Torani-860. Method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with cross-sectional study approach. Sample was taken using total sampling trchnique with inclusion and exclusion criteria with result of 23 crewmember. The parameters used are Nordic Body Map (NBM), Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ), and Rapid Assessment of Physical Activity (RAPA). Result of the study found that (91,3%) crewmember carry out physical activity in the Active category at RAPA 1, (91.3%) crewmember had a mild risk level of MSD, approximately (82.6%) complained of MSD in the last 12 month or 7 days. (69.6%) reported MSD prevented them from carrying normal activities, lower back (78.3%) and neck (60.8%) were the two body parts most frequently reported for MSD. Conclusion of this study is most of the crewmember have mild category MSD symptoms where MSD that occurs in crewmember have many precipitating factors that can increase MSD symptoms.
