Abstract
COVID-19 pandemic had an impact from health issues to the economy. Efforts to stop the spread with the new policy led to changes in workloads and targets that can’t be achieved, resulting in the risk of layoffs due to declining profits of the company. This condition can increase employee work stress. The purpose of this study was to determine factors associated with the incidence of occupational stress in JO. BUMIKALOG employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in March 2021 with a total sample of 33 workers, using the total sampling method. The research instrument used NIOSH Generic Job Stress Questionnaire. It was found that 60.6% of workers experienced work stress. The results of the chi-square test obtained a significant association between the workers’ level of education (p-value = 0.035), job uncertainty (p-value = 0.005), low job opportunities (p-value = 0.005), responsibility (p-value = 0.027), and work shifts (p-value = 0.026) with occupational stress. Preferably, the company enforces a promising employment contract and guarantees job certainty as prevention of workers' anxiety over job uncertainty. For workers is hoped to continue develop abilities and knowledge in order to improve their skills.
