Abstract
The application of an incident reporting culture which is mostly carried out by nurses is able to minimize the risk of incidents occurring. The attitude of nurses who are not willing to report incidents on the grounds that they have not caused injury and the perception that if they report they will be blamed can be obstacles in cultural internalization. This study aims to determine the effect of nurses' attitudes and perceptions on the culture of reporting patient safety incidents in the inpatient ward of Grha Permata Ibu Hospital, Depok. The method used is an analytic survey using a cross sectional design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 75 nurses as respondents. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square test. Nurses' attitudes affect the culture of patient safety incident reporting (p value = 0.000) and nurses' perceptions affect the culture of patient safety incident reporting (p value = 0.042). Attitudes and perceptions of nurses simultaneously affect the culture of patient safety incident reporting (p value = 0.000). The conclusion that can be drawn is that there is an influence between attitudes and perceptions both simultaneously and individually on the culture of reporting patient safety incidents.
