Abstract

PT. Artas Energi Petrogas is a seamless steel pipe manufacturing company that still manages its consumable goods inventory manually through ledger records and Microsoft Excel, resulting in discrepancies between physical stock and administrative data, item-naming errors, and the risk of stockouts for fast-moving goods. This research aims to design and develop a web-based inventory control system that implements the Safety Stock and Reorder Point methods to improve the operational efficiency of inventory management. The system was developed using the Waterfall model, with Google Apps Script as the backend and Google Spreadsheet as the database. System testing was conducted using Black Box Testing across 18 test scenarios, as well as a User Acceptance Test with users, which showed that all features functioned validly and in accordance with user requirements. The validation results show that the system's Safety Stock calculation of 113 pairs of gloves and Reorder Point of 245 pairs produced a difference of one pair due to rounding in the lead time conversion. Efficiency analysis using the Task Completion Time metric showed a significant improvement, with the number of manual activities reduced from 26 to 11 (57.7%). Thus, the developed system is able to support inventory control, helping the company determine the appropriate procurement timing and minimize the risk of stockouts.
