Abstract
The development of mobile communication technology has led to an increasing use of live streaming services on social media platforms such as Instagram Live and TikTok Live. This study aims to analyze the service quality of these applications on 4G and 5G networks in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area using the Walk Test and Run Test methods. Measurements were conducted on Telkomsel, XL Axiata, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison networks using RSRP, SINR, Throughput, Delay, Jitter, and Packetloss as evaluation parameters. The results show that XL Axiata achieved the best performance in the GBK Stadium area, with an average index value of 3 for TikTok Live services on both 4G and 5G networks. Meanwhile, Telkomsel demonstrated the best performance in the Hutan Kota GBK area, achieving the highest average index value of 3.1 for Instagram Live services on the 4G network. In general, the 5G network provided better service quality than the 4G network, as indicated by higher Throughput and lower Delay, Jitter, and Packetloss values in most testing scenarios. Furthermore, the Hutan Kota GBK area exhibited more stable network performance than the GBK Stadium area. Based on the findings, 5G technology is more effective in supporting Instagram Live and TikTok Live live streaming services on mobile communication networks.
