Abstract

This study analyzes the construction of women’s empowerment discourse on the Instagram account @girlsbeyond.id through content related to career development and selfdevelopment among young women in the digital era. This study aims to critically examine how social media constructs empowered women within contemporary digital work culture. The object of this study consists of five contents focusing on productivity, career, and work skills. The findings show that @girlsbeyond.id reflects a tendency toward neoliberal feminism that shifts the meaning of women’s empowerment into an individual responsibility to continuously improve self-capacity and work productivity. Therefore, social media functions not only as a medium of information, but also as a platform that reproduces the ideal standards of women in the digital era
