Abstract
The implementation of telemedicine through SPGDT and SISRUTE reduces the burden on healthcare facilities and supports coordination among healthcare facilities patient referral process. One of the widely used forms of telemedicine is teleconsultation. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the use of telemedicine and the effectiveness of follow-up of the BPJS Health patient referral system at RSUD Bakti Pajajaran. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design in June 2026. The study included 53 respondents, consisting of 17 employees involved in telemedicine and the referral system and 36 patients referred through teleconsultation using SPGDT and SISRUTE. The samples were selected using a total sampling technique. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that three variables were significantly associated with the effectiveness of referral system follow-up, namely communication (p=0.004), disposition (p<0.001), and bureaucratic structure (p=0.040). Meanwhile, resources (p=0.139) were not significantly associated with the effectiveness of referral system follow-up. The implementation of telemedicine through SPGDT and SISRUTE is associated with the effectiveness of patient referral follow-up. Hospitals are expected to continously improve the implementation of telemedicine in the referral system, particularly through SPGDT and SISRUTE, to maintain service quality of referral follow-up.
