Abstract
Paylater services have grown rapidly and are easily accessible to students, creating the potential for risky credit behavior. This study aims to analyze the risky credit behavior of Paylater users among students of the Diploma Three Banking and Finance Study Program at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, based on two dimensions, namely risky borrowing and risky paying. The author applied a quantitative descriptive method, determining the sample size through the Lemeshow formula and a purposive sampling technique, which resulted in 96 respondents. The author collected the data using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 15 statements, and then analyzed it using IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The test results showed that all statements were valid and reliable, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.918. The findings revealed that both dimensions fell into the moderate category, with the risky paying dimension (mean 2.85) being higher than the risky borrowing dimension (mean 2.64). These findings indicate that students are relatively controlled at the borrowing stage but more vulnerable at the payment stage. The author concludes that students’ credit risk stems more from payment management than from borrowing behavior.
