Abstract

PT XYZ is a company operating in the automotive manufacturing industry, where various occupational hazards and safety risks are present. Based on the company’s occupational accident records in 2025, three moderate occupational accidents and several minor occupational accidents were reported. These incidents highlight the importance of promoting a high level of safety behavior. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between safety climate, individual characteristics, and safety behavior among production unit workers at PT XYZ Bogor in 2026. This study employed a quantitative method with a cross sectional design. The study sample consisted of 65 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using the Safety Behavior Questionnaire and the Nordic Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of workers demonstrated low safety behavior (50,8%). A significant relationship was found between safety climate and safety behavior (p < 0,001), whereas individual characteristics were not significantly associated with safety behavior (p > 0,05). Therefore, the company is expected to strengthen its safety climate to improve safety behavior, thereby promoting safe work practices and maintaining overall occupational safety.
