Abstract
This research is motivated by the shift in United States foreign policy during the era of President Donald Trump (2017–2021), which implemented the America First doctrine. This approach transformed traditional alliances into transactional relationships to secure the national economy and security, particularly in responding to the dynamics of the Yemen War. This research aims to analyze the foreign policy of the United States towards Saudi Arabia in the conflict. This research utilizes Structural Realism theory, Rational Choice Theory, and the America First concept through a descriptive qualitative approach based on a literature review. The results of the research indicate that US support for Saudi Arabia is driven by rational calculations for the sake of national interests. The US gained domestic economic stimulus through massive-scale arms sales agreements. Geopolitically, although the United States succeeded in the short term in containing the influence of Iranian proxies within an anarchic regional system by delegating the burden of war to Saudi Arabia through burden-sharing, the Houthi rebels have in fact continued their resistance, bolstered by their strengthening consolidation with Iran.
