Abstract

Liquidity constitutes a vital element of banking operations, given its close relationship with a bank's capacity to fulfill short-term obligations while sustaining the smooth functioning of its intermediation role. In managing liquidity, banks may utilize Bank Indonesia's monetary operation instruments as an alternative for placing funds that have not yet been fully disbursed as loans. This final project aims to describe the development of fund placements in Bank Indonesia's monetary instruments, particularly Bank Indonesia Certificates (SBI) and Bank Indonesia Rupiah Securities (SRBI), to analyze the liquidity condition of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. using the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) and Liquid Assets to Third-Party Funds (AL/DPK) ratios, and to analyze the relationship between fund placements in these instruments and the bank's liquidity management during the 2021–2025 period. This final project applied a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data drawn from the annual reports of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. The results indicate a shift in fund placement strategy from SBI during 2021–2022 to SRBI starting in 2023. The bank's liquidity condition, as measured by the LDR and AL/DPK ratios, fluctuated throughout the observation period. The findings also show that placements in SBI and SRBI constitute one component of the bank's liquidity management strategy; however, changes in liquidity conditions are also influenced by other liquid assets, third-party funds, and lending activities.
