Abstract

This study examines the effect of capital expenditure, environmental cost, and operational efficiency on firm value with foreign ownership as a moderating variable in oil and gas companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for 2015–2024. Using a quantitative approach and purposive sampling, a total of 220 observations from 22 companies were analyzed using panel data regression with STATA 17. Firm value is proxied by Tobin’s Q. The results indicate that capital expenditure and environmental cost do not significantly affect firm value. Conversely, operational efficiency has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Furthermore, foreign ownership significantly moderates the relationship between operational efficiency and firm value with a negative direction, but does not moderate the relationships involving capital expenditure and environmental cost.
