Abstract

An uncomputerized sales system can be a major obstacle for small-scale retail businesses in carrying out their daily operations. Berty Shop is a minimarket retail business in East Jakarta that sells household goods and children's snacks, and has been operating since 2017. The main problem in its operational activities is the lack of documentation for sales transaction history. The cashier's process is limited to receiving physical cash without issuing a printed receipt, meaning the details of the items sold are not recorded at all. The absence of this historical data triggers a high risk of human error and the loss of transaction traces, which directly impacts the store owner's inability to calculate gross and net profit accurately.This research aims to build a web-based Sales Information System to overcome these problems. The software development method used is the Waterfall method, supported by PIECES analysis to identify the weaknesses of the current system. The design stage is visualized using Unified Modeling Language (UML) in the form of Use Case Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, and Class Diagrams. This system is developed using the PHP programming language and a MySQL database.The result of this research is a computerized sales information system where the Cashier can process transactions, print physical payment receipts for customers, and update the remaining stock automatically. Furthermore, this system is capable of generating accurate transaction revenue reports for the Owner to monitor in real-time. The implementation of this system makes the management of sales transactions at Berty Shop significantly more structured, transparent, and efficient.
