Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of digital financial inclusion on income inequality across provinces in Indonesia in 2022. The dimensions of digital financial inclusion are represented by financial inclusion, ICT Development Index (IP-TIK), and internet penetration, with GDP per capita and poverty rate acting as control variables. Utilizing cross-sectional data from 34 provinces, this research applies multiple linear regression (Ordinary Least Squares) adjusted with Huber-White Robust Standard Errors. The results demonstrate that, simultaneously, all independent variables significantly affect income inequality. However, partially, financial inclusion, ICT development, internet penetration, and GDP per capita do not significantly impact the Gini ratio. In contrast, the poverty rate has a positive and highly significant effect, serving as the primary driver of widening inequality. The study concludes that digital infrastructure development and financial inclusion during the post-pandemic recovery period have not been able to serve as inclusive economic equalization instruments without addressing the structural poverty at the grassroots level.
