Abstract

As a crucial metric of local fiscal capacity, Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD) demonstrates how effectively regional governments leverage internal economic potential to fund development. Although Banten Province serves as a critical transit corridor for logistics and services, its PAD achievements remain suboptimal, positioning it as the second lowest on Java Island alongside stark intra-regional fiscal imbalances. This empirical research evaluates how the number of industrial firms, population density, per capita income, and an urban-rural dummy classification affect PAD across eight regencies and municipalities in Banten Province from 2010 to 2024. Utilizing panel data regression, the study identifies the Random Effect Model (REM) with Cluster Robust Standard Errors as the most appropriate analytical approach. The empirical findings indicate that both the number of industries and population density exert a positive and significant impact on PAD. Conversely, per capita income does not significantly influence regional revenue. Furthermore, the geographic classification reveals a significant effect, with rural localities generating a lower average revenue than their urban counterparts.
