Abstract
The selection process for the National Science Olympiad (OSN) delegation at SMA Negeri 8 Depok is currently still conducted manually using Microsoft Excel without a systematic and standardized evaluation method. This leads to problems such as subjectivity in decision-making, the absence of clear weighting among evaluation criteria, an inefficient recapitulation process, and limited transparency of information for students in independently monitoring their selection status. This study aims to apply a combination of the ROC and MOORA methods and develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) using the CodeIgniter 4 framework, Bootstrap, and MySQL to address these issues. The Rank Order Centroid (ROC) method was applied to weight 7 criteria based on priority order, resulting in the OSN Selection Test Score as the highest weight (0.3704) and the Discipline Score as the lowest weight (0.0204). Subsequently, the MOORA method was used to rank 117 applicants across 9 OSN fields and successfully identified the top 5 delegates in each field, with the highest preference scores achieved by alternative A7 in Computer Science (0.4807), A23 in Biology (0.2822), A36 in Astronomy (0.4957), A45 in Economics (0.4597), A52 in Physics (0.3897), A61 in Geography (0.3677), A73 in Earth Sciences (0.5056), A88 in Chemistry (0.3414), and A113 in Mathematics (0.3031). Test results show that the manual calculations and the system are 100% consistent, and all functionalities operate well based on Black Box testing, proving that the system is valid and accurate, thus making the selection process more structured, transparent, and automated compared to the previous manual management.
