Abstract

The Karya Mahardika Award at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta is an appreciation for graduates demonstrating academic and non-academic excellence. However, the selection process at the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) is currently conducted manually through data recapitulation. This leads to time inefficiency, proneness to data bias, and inflexibility in responding to changes in assessment criteria. This research aims to design and develop a web service-based Decision Support System (DSS) that automates data integration and implements the Weighted Sum Model (WSM) method to execute an objective selection. The system was developed utilizing the Waterfall method. The system's architecture is supported by REST API technology using a push-based transmission mechanism via HTTP POST, enabling the system to function effectively as a data receiver from external systems without manual data retrieval. System testing was conducted using black-box testing to validate all functionalities. The results indicate that the DSS successfully automated the collection of student portfolio data. Based on the black-box testing, the system operates properly according to the expected functionalities, and the WSM algorithm within the system generates candidate scores and rankings accurately, matching the manual mathematical calculations.
