Abstract
Background: Measles (morbili) is a contagious infectious disease that remains a health problem in children, especially in developing countries. This disease can lead to serious complications if not properly managed; therefore, comprehensive nursing care is required. Methods: This study used a case study method with a nursing process approach, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The subject of this case study was a 3-year-8month-old child diagnosed with measles who was hospitalized for three days. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Results: The assessment results showed that the patient experienced fever, cough and cold, generalized rash, and decreased appetite. The nursing diagnoses identified included hyperthermia, impaired skin integrity, risk of fluid imbalance, and knowledge deficit. Nursing interventions were carried out based on SDKI, SLKI, and SIKI standards. After three days of nursing care, the patient’s condition improved, as indicated by a decrease in body temperature, reduction of rash, and improvement in respiratory pattern and overall condition. Conclusion: The implementation of comprehensive nursing care in pediatric patients with measles can help accelerate recovery and prevent complications.
