Abstract
Background: Seizures are a neurological disorder that occurs due to abnormal and excessive electrical activity in the brain. The tonic phase of seizures is characterized by muscle stiffness, and the clonic phase is characterized by repeated jerking or twitching movements in all limbs. Objective: This study aims to implement nursing care for patients with seizure disorders, especially in the problem of the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, through the application of seizure management at South Tangerang City Hospital. Method: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study design through a nursing process approach that includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and nursing evaluation. Results: The results of the case study showed that there were three nursing diagnoses, namely the risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, acute pain, and ineffective airway clearance. Nursing interventions carried out focused on seizure management, including providing a semi-Fowler position, monitoring mean arterial pressure (MAP), monitoring vital signs, and collaboration in administering pharmacological. Conclusion: The application of seizure management in patients with seizure disorders showed positive results, characterized by a more stable patient condition and controlled seizures. Suggestion: This scientific paper is expected to be a reference for health workers, students, and educational institutions in improving the quality of nursing care for patients with seizure disorders in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.
