Abstract

This study designs and implements an automatic beatmap generation pipeline using a CNN-Transformer Encoder approach inspired by BERT, integrated into a Unity WebGL-based music game called BeatNusa. Audio is processed into log-mel spectrograms, extracted using CNN, and then processed by a Transformer Encoder to predict note events and lanes, which are stored in JSON format for gameplay integration. The system is also supported by a FastAPI backend and MySQL database to manage audio uploads, song metadata, beatmap storage, and data retrieval by Unity WebGL. The results show that the model achieved a best F1-score of 0.6840 and a lane accuracy of 0.8675, while user testing produced an average SUS score of 77.67. Based on these results, BeatNusa is feasible as a music game prototype with automatic beatmap generation and has potential as an interactive medium for introducing regional songs.
