Abstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis remains a major health problem, particularly in patients with comorbidities of type 2 diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia who require longterm therapy and combination drugs. The simultaneous use of antituberculosis, antidiabetic, and antidyslipidemic drugs has the potential to cause drug interactions that affect therapeutic outcomes. However, studies specifically discussing the interactions of these three drugs are still limited. This study aims to analyze the relationship between drug interactions and therapeutic outcomes (sputum BTA, LDL-C levels, and GDP levels) in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with dyslipidemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus at the outpatient facility of Persahabatan General Hospital from 2021 to 2024. This study was conducted using a cross-sectional study design. The study subjects consisted of 12 patients who met the criteria. The majority of patients were female (83.3%) and were in the early elderly age group (46-55 years) to late elderly age group (56-65 years) (33.3%). A total of 12 patients (100%) experienced potential drug interactions with a total of 55 drug interaction events, while actual drug interactions only occurred in 8 patients (66.7%) with a total of 15 drug interaction events. The results showed no association between drug interactions and sputum BTA outcomes. There was no significant association between actual drug interactions and LDL-C levels (p=0.205), but there was a significant association between actual drug interactions and GDP levels (p=0.028).
