Abstract
The development of information technology has brought significant changes to the patterns and modus operandi of corruption crimes, which increasingly involve the use of electronic systems and digital data. This condition has made digital evidence a crucial element in the evidentiary process of corruption crime cases. Therefore, clear, systematic, and adaptive digital forensic regulations are required, particularly within the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia. However, the existing legal framework remains general and fragmented across various laws and regulations, and thus has not provided comprehensive technical guidelines for the handling of digital evidence. This study aims to analyze the urgency of reformulating digital forensic regulations in the evidentiary process of corruption crime cases and to examine the role of internal prosecutorial regulations in ensuring legal certainty and the quality of evidence. The research employs a normative legal research method using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that the absence of specific regulations on digital forensics may lead to inconsistent practices in handling digital evidence, weaken its evidentiary value in court, and pose risks to the principle of due process of law. Accordingly, this study recommends the establishment of a Prosecutorial Regulation on Digital Forensics as a form of legal policy reform to strengthen evidentiary standards and enhance the effectiveness of corruption law enforcement in the digital era.
