Abstract
This study, entitled “ANALISIS DINAMIKA KELOMPOK DALAM PENGGUNAAN BAHASA KASAR OLEH GENERASI Z SAAT BERMAIN GAME ONLINE VALORANT”, employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore Generation Z’s subjective experiences in using harsh language during in-game interactions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Kurt Lewin’s group dynamics theory (unfreezing, moving, refreezing). The findings reveal that the use of harsh language in Valorant is not merely spontaneous emotional expression, but rather part of an established communication pattern shaped by group context. Harsh language functions as a stress-release mechanism, friendly banter among peers, and even as an assertion of dominance in competitive settings. Group dynamics play a crucial role: interactions with friends often generate humorous uses of harsh words, while interactions with random players tend to escalate into verbal conflicts. These results highlight that harsh language in online gaming has become an integral part of Generation Z’s communication culture, normalized and reinforced through both virtual and real-life social interactions.
