Abstract
This research aims to analyze Indonesia's compliance with articles 7 and 8 of CEDAW in encouraging political participation at the parliamentary level in the 2019-2024 period. This study will use theories and concepts from international regime theory, international regime compliance theory by Ronald. B. Mitchell and the concept of political participation. This research used qualitative research methods, employing interviews and library research techniques. The results of this study are outputs related to Indonesia's compliance with article 7 of CEDAW, namely the enactment of Law No. 7 of 1984. Meanwhile, the outcome of the implementation related to article 7 of CEDAW is marked by the increasing representation of women in the DPR in the last two election periods (2019-2024). Indonesia's efforts to comply with article 8 of CEDAW can be seen from the output presented by the enactment of the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Regulation Number 21 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) within the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, the outcome of the implementation of article 8 of CEDAW is marked by the increasing participation of women in Indonesian diplomacy, both numerically and structurally. Based on the standard legal assessment, Indonesia has complied with and implemented the principles of CEDAW Articles 7 & 8.
