Abstract
Nursing professionals are frequently faced with situations that require optimal physical and emotional resilience. Nurses work under intense workloads, limited rest periods, and irregular schedules. In Indonesia, 33.5% of nurses are reported to experience burnout, with emotional exhaustion reaching 48.2% and depersonalization 51.8%. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in reducing burnout among nurses in the Inpatient Unit of RSUD Pasar Minggu. The study began with an assessment that included interviews, observations, and administration of the Maslach Burnout Inventory– Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS). EFT intervention was provided to three nurses categorized as having high levels of burnout. The therapy was carried out for three consecutive days, with each session lasting 10 minutes after the nurses completed their work shifts. The results showed a substantial decrease in burnout scores, from a pre-test average of 79.43 to a post-test average of 63.14. A paired sample t-test yielded a p-value of < 0.001, indicating that EFT has a significant effect on reducing burnout levels among nurses. EFT is recommended as a simple and applicable stress-management strategy that can be implemented in nursing practice. Future research is encouraged to include a larger sample size and longer intervention duration to obtain more comprehensive results.
