Abstract
Websites play a crucial role as platforms for providing digital information and services that can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Along with the rapid advancement of information technology, websites have become increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks that may threaten data security and user privacy. This risk also applies to university Repository websites, which store important academic documents such as theses, dissertations, and scientific publications. Therefore, evaluating the security level of Repository websites is essential to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of academic information. This study aims to analyze and compare the security level of the Repository website of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) using two widely used web vulnerability scanning tools, namely Acunetix and OWASP ZAP. The research method involves conducting separate vulnerability scans with each tool to identify the types, quantities, and risk levels of security vulnerabilities present in the system. The results indicate that both Acunetix and OWASP ZAP identified 15 vulnerabilities, with the majority classified as medium-risk. The detected vulnerabilities are primarily related to web application security configurations, including HTTPS implementation, security header settings, protection against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), and server information disclosure. No high-risk or critical vulnerabilities were found by either tool. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the security level of the UPNVJ Repository website is moderate and requires further improvement, particularly in terms of server configuration and the implementation of modern web security standards. The combined use of Acunetix and OWASP ZAP provides a more comprehensive assessment of website security and serves as a valuable reference for developing effective mitigation strategies.
