Abstract
This study aims to analyze Saudi Arabia’s sport diplomacy efforts through the organization of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in enhancing the performance of the tourism sector during 2021–2024. The research is based on Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes economic diversification and the strengthening of international image through soft power. A qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed, using data from academic journals, official reports, international media, and documents related to the Formula 1 event in Jeddah. The findings reveal that Formula 1 has been utilized by Saudi Arabia as a tool of sport diplomacy to expand global exposure, attract international tourists, and create investment opportunities in the tourism and infrastructure sectors. Furthermore, the event has strengthened Saudi Arabia’s image as a new destination in the Middle East and contributed to the growth of its tourism sector. Thus, Formula 1 plays a crucial role as part of Saudi Arabia’s sport diplomacy strategy to achieve economic and social transformation through tourism.
