Abstract
Background: Frequent flooding in Jakarta deteriorates environmental sanitation and clean water availability, directly increasing diarrhea risks among vulnerable groups, particularly toddlers. Housewives play a crucial role in breaking the transmission chain through preventive actions. Objective: To analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge regarding post-flood diarrhea and prevention behavior among housewives in RW 01, Kemayoran Subdistrict. Methods: This was an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design involving 32 housewives. Data were collected via validated questionnaires and analyzed using Fisher’s Exact Test and Spearman correlation. Results: The study revealed a significant relationship between knowledge levels and diarrhea prevention behavior (p = 0.002; p < 0.05). The Spearman correlation test yielded an r-value of 0.617, indicating a strong positive correlation between the two variables. Conclusion: Higher maternal knowledge regarding post-flood health risks leads to better implementation of diarrhea prevention behaviors. These results emphasize the need for strengthened community-based health education in disaster management.
