Abstract

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is an external factor that plays an important role in driving the progress of a country's economic growth, by looking at several internal macroeconomic indicators of the country that encourage investors to invest in the country, especially developing countries, with the country's internal indicators being an interest for further research by looking at the condition of the country's GDP Per Capita, the condition of the State Interest Rate, and the condition of Inflation that shows the stability of the country's economy towards FDI flows in 5 ASEAN countries, using a dynamic panel data approach with the System Generalized Method of Moments (SYS-GMM) method to obtain consistent estimates and analyze the Speed of Adjustment (SOA) to see the speed of FDI adjustment to long-term conditions. The results of the study show that the GDP Per Capita variable has a positive and significant effect on FDI, the Interest Rate Variable has no effect on FDI, and the Inflation Variable has a negative and insignificant effect on FDI.
