Abstract
As the largest archipelagic country in the world with around 17,000 islands, the sea is the lifeline of the Indonesian people. Marine ecosystems provide resources that can benefit the economy and provide ecosystems for human well-being. GRDP can describe a region's ability to manage its natural resources. This study aims to analyze the effect of the fisheries sector, such as the amount of fishery production, the number of fishermen, and the number of vessels, on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the three largest Fisheries Management Areas in Indonesia, namely WPP 718, 573, and 711. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries for the period from 2010 to 2023. The method used in this study is a Panel Data Regression model using a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) with Stata 17 analysis tools. The results of this study indicate that, partially, the amount of fishery production and the number of fishermen have a positive and significant effect on GRDP, while the number of vessels doen’t have a significant effect on GRDP. Simultaneously, the variables of fishery production, number of fishermen, and number of vessels can affect GRDP.
