Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method in improving the efficiency of raw material inventory control at PT. XYZ, a company engaged in the production of light steel materials for construction. The study identifies key challenges faced by the company, such as excess stock and high logistics costs due to inefficient inventory management practices. By applying the EOQ method, this research examines how the optimal order quantity, reorder point, and safety stock level can reduce inventory-related costs while ensuring timely availability of raw materials. The results show that the application of the EOQ method significantly reduced the Total Inventory Cost (TIC) by IDR 84,118,208, or 35%. Additionally, this study emphasizes the importance of accurate demand forecasting, lead time management, and the implementation of standard operating procedures in achieving long-term inventory management efficiency. These findings suggest that PT. XYZ can achieve significant cost savings and operational efficiency improvements by integrating the EOQ method into its inventory management practices.
