Abstract
This study uses a quantitative approach to examine how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, capital costs, and company size play a role in shaping profitability levels as measured by Return on Assets (ROA) in infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2021–2024. A total of 13 companies with ESG scores from Refinitiv were selected as the research sample. The testing process was carried out by applying a panel data regression model using EViews 13 software and using a 5 percent significance level as the basis for drawing conclusions. The estimation results show that the ESG variable does not have a significant effect on ROA. Meanwhile, capital costs have a negative and significant relationship with profitability, indicating that an increase in funding costs has an impact on the decline in a company's ability to generate profits. The size of the company was not statistically proven to affect ROA. These findings show that in the context of the infrastructure sector, funding cost pressures are a stronger determinant of profitability than sustainability factors or the size of a company's assets.
