Abstract
Introduction: Executive function plays a crucial role in daily life for regulating behavior and making decisions. Brain executive function is highly personal due to differences in genetic predisposition, culture, personality, and knowledge, leading to variations in neurocognitive characteristics of brain executive function across different regions. This research is part of a multi-site study across nine major cities in Indonesia aimed at mapping brain executive functions. Specifically, this study examines brain executive functions in the community of Surabaya City using a practical and economical local instrument, the Psychological Assessment for Spiritual Health and Brain Function Screening (PASHBRAINS). The research uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 140 respondents selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, with stratification by age and education level. Descriptive analysis results showed that the majority of the Surabaya City community experienced mild (49.3%) and moderate (35.7%) impairments in Conventional Executive Function (CEF), yet demonstrated optimal (55.7%) and functional (42.1%) Transcendental Executive Function (TEF). The Spearman rank correlation test results indicated a significant relationship between CEF and TEF with a pvalue = 0.000 and a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.384. Linear regression showed a significant influence of Positive Emotions and Resilience on the Limbic System (Beta=0.209; p=0.013). It is concluded that although experiencing mild-to-moderate CEF impairment, potentially influenced by urban characteristics, the Surabaya community shows resilience in the transcendental aspect. This mapping can serve as a foundation for developing more contextual
