Abstract
Economic growth is an important indicator in assessing the level of welfare and development of a region. Uneven economic growth across regions can lead to development disparities and widen social and economic inequality in society. This study aims to analyze the influence of several economic factors on economic growth in West Sumatera Province. The independent variables analyzed include the open unemployment rate, labor force participation rate, and literacy rate. The data used covers 19 regencies/cities in West Sumatera Province over the period 2017–2023, resulting in a total of 133 observations. The analytical method applied is panel data regression, which combines time series and cross-sectional data, and the data were processed using Stata 17. The results show that the open unemployment rate has a significant negative effect on economic growth, the labor force participation rate has a significant positive effect, while the literacy rate does not have a significant effect on economic growth in West Sumatera Province.
