Abstract

The analysis of deck structure strength is a fundamental aspect of the operational of Transshipment Floating Terminals (TFT), as the deck serves as the supporting structure for the loads generated by the ship loader during operations. This analysis is essential to ensure that the deck can withstand the operational loads imposed by the ship loader structure. A static structural analysis based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) was employed to determine the normal and shear stress values at the deck. Two variations were utilized in this analysis: load variations of 5, 10, 15, and 20 tons, and rotation angle variations of 00, 450, 900, and 1350. The analysis revealed that the highest normal stress value reached 230.44 MPa and the shear stress value was 53.081 MPa at a load variation of 20 tons with a rotation angle of 450. Based on the results, the load borne by the deck structure can be considered safe, as it remains within the allowable normal stress limit of 235.84 MPa and the allowable shear stress limit of 137.28 MPa as per classification rules.
