Abstract
Blade is playing the main and important part roles of the turbine, as well as the darrieus H-rotor type which would be preconcerted to get a good design to be optimal in producing power. Therefore, the author decided to choose the study of material stress analysis and the displacement at the wind turbine blades on two different materials. This study began by determining the design modeling of one blade until three blades, then calculating the forces received by the blade and simulation analysis to determine which material is better. The simulation method used is only a statistical structure with three wind speeds, and a maximum turbine capacity of 125 W. After the simulation was done on both designs, the aluminum darrieus wind turbine blade was 1.67 times stronger than the design with balsa material. Although balsa got higher at stress value, under the maximum stress at 24.4 MPa and a power of 227.2 W at 8m/s wind but exceeds its yield point stress of 20 MPa and has a deformation that tends to be large, which is 5.1 mm and a safety factor of 0.8.
