Abstract

The formulation and adjustments implemented by the government in oil industry policies in Indonesia serve to increase crude oil production in order to meet domestic demand. This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of policy indicators in the oil industry on crude oil production in Indonesia. The object of this study is the crude oil industry in Indonesia, with annual data from 1990 to 2022 as the sample. This research employs multiple linear regression analysis using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach. The results show that contractor taxes, mining sector investment, the government’s share of oil and gas revenue, and oil reserves simultaneously have an effect on crude oil production in Indonesia. Partially, contractor taxation has a significant and negative effect on oil production. On the other hand, oil reserves have a significant and positive effect on oil production. Additionally, mining sector investment and the government's share of oil and gas revenue have insignificant effect on oil production in Indonesia.
