Abstract
This study aims to design a conical burr coffee grinder machine suitable for small and medium-scale industries. The machine is intended to produce coffee grounds with consistent fineness, high efficiency, and affordability for MSME actors. The methodology includes need analysis, conceptual design, mechanical calculations, and prototype development. The main components analyzed are the burr grinder blade, shaft, key, pulley ,belt, and bearing. The conical burr blade was selected due to its consistent grinding performance. Calculations show that the machine requires 85.05 W of power, with a grinder blade speed of 466.66 rpm. The prototype was tested using robusta coffee beans, producing fine grinds with a 90.37% meshpass rate in an average time of 61.6 seconds, and medium grinds with a 95.52% pass rate in 54.8 seconds. The machine measures 500×300×550 mm and can grind up to 0.65 kg/hour. The results indicate that the design is feasible and efficient for supporting small industry needs. Further development is recommended to enhance long-term durability and production capacity.
