Abstract
Background: Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a motor development disorder that is quite commonly found in children. In Indonesia, its prevalence is estimated at 1–5 cases per 1,000 live births, with an estimated 5,000 to 25,000 new cases each year. Objective: This study aims to examine how physiotherapy management is carried out in children with spastic diplegic type cerebral palsy at Rumah Sakit Anak dan Bunda Harapan Kita. Methods: This research uses a descriptive case study approach. The interventions provided included the Bobath method, strengthening exercises, and the use of assistive devices such as splints and AFO shoes. To assess motor abilities and the level of independence in the child, GMFM and GMFCS parameters were used. Results: After three physiotherapy intervention sessions, improvements were observed in the child's ability to perform strengthening exercises. Conclusion: This study shows that the main problem in the patient was successfully identified through physiotherapy assessment. The physiotherapy interventions provided for this case of spastic diplegic cerebral palsy proved effective in improving the patient's motor abilities and muscle strength.
