Abstract
This study analyzes the energy efficiency and performance of hybrid electric bicycles using Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) and Lithium-Ion Polymer (Li-Po) batteries through testing under various road conditions, speeds, and rider weights. The results show that Li-Po batteries have a higher charging efficiency (91.979%) compared to Li-Ion batteries (83.934%), making them more optimal for energy storage. However, Li-Ion batteries perform better in maintaining higher initial power input, even though it decreases more rapidly. Li-Ion batteries are more suitable for uphill terrain or heavy loads, while Li-Po batteries are more efficient on flat or downhill terrain, especially at low speeds. This research is expected to serve as a reference for the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly hybrid electric bicycles.
